Olivia is a Quantity Surveyor focusing on claims and dispute resolution and has been with TWO PLUS TWO since 2015.
Olivia’s goal: To excel in all areas of dispute resolution, encourage better management of commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, and to promote the advancement of women in construction careers to build an equitable and inspiring industry.
Olivia studied Law at Newcastle University and soon realised there was a significant crossover between the legal and construction worlds. Olivia joined TWO PLUS TWO as a graduate and strengthened her knowledge by completing an MSc in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying. She has since gained experience on a broad range of projects, both from a quantity surveying and dispute resolution perspective.
Due to her background in law, Olivia is experienced in contract interpretation and legal analysis, which can be crucial to a successful project. She particularly enjoys being involved in exciting time-pressured adjudications where the stakes are high. Recently, Olivia has furthered her interest in dispute resolution by studying for her membership to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Olivia has a keen interest in promoting the advancement of women in the construction industry. She is a mentor for young women embarking on construction careers, and visits schools to deliver training as part of the National Association of Women in Construction.
If Olivia didn’t go down this path, she would’ve likely ended up on the stage, so loves a West End musical. Olivia also loves spending time in the Lake District mountains with her family and dogs.
